Our Roots
Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work, we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we decided to launch The K.I.M. Foundation. We strive to make a positive change in as many lives as we can. Our #1 initiative is our Survivor Assistance Program. This program allows us to help cancer survivors maintain diligence in their future testing and wellness visits to insure their cancer has not returned silently and undetected. We will do this by providing cost, transportation or scheduling assistance to those who need help getting their annual / semi annual, monthly, or weekly testing done.

SURVIVOR ASSISTANCE
Health Is Wealth!
Through our Survivor Assistance program, we have the potential to make real and positive change. This is one of our key areas of focus here at The K.I.M. Foundation, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit. This program allows us to assist cancer survivors in their efforts to maintain diligence in future testing and health care.

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and our Economic Development initiative will help The K.I.M. Foundation ensure that those we serve are better prepared to persevere in the unique situations they find themselves in.
THE K.I.M. FOUNDATION: CHARITY FUNDRAISING
Our foundation recently hosted a fundraising event to help give back to the community Kim spent her entire life in. This event was held in Alexandria, Indiana. Outside of this fundraising event we will be partaking in general fundraising for our community in the forms of our Survivor Assistance Program as well as toy/food drives this year. We did our first annual Fall Food Drive this passed holiday season which was a huge success!
KIMS STORY
I know you're probably wondering who Kim is and why we've created this foundation in her name. Kimberly Turner was an amazing person, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and best friend. Kim fought the good fight with Ovarian Cancer. She was able to fight her illness into remission in 2016, ring that bell at the end of chemo, and thought she had beat it for good. Unfortunately a few years later in 2020 her illness snuck back into her body and spread all throughout it. When she realized she was having issues she started going to the doctor and was initially told she was dealing with a respiratory infection. After weeks of persisting issues and more testing the doctors finally realized her cancer had returned and had begun riddling her lungs with infection. After receiving her new diagnosis of returned cancer Kim was only with us 4 more months before it took her life. This was a shock no one was expecting which hurled our family into a tragic situation. The K.I.M. Foundation pledges to make this a reality for less and less people. Our #1 initiative is our Survivor Assistance Program. This program allows us to help cancer survivors maintain diligence in their future testing and wellness visits to insure their cancer has not returned silently and undetected. We will do this by providing cost, transportation or scheduling assistance to those who need help getting their annual / semi annual, monthly, or weekly testing done. In doing this we hope to stop as many families as we can from the quick and devastating affects of a returned critical illness that we thought was beat for good. Kim brought a bright light to every room she entered and we know there are many more individuals out there that shine bright but may need our assistance keeping their fire ablaze. At the time Kim received her second diagnosis she was the healthiest she had been in years. She was at the gym religiously every single morning and working a full time job that she loved. We aim to bring awareness to the fact that these deadly illnesses can sneak back up on us at any point in any physical condition. We are here to help when they do.
